What is in a job title? – Straw poll, please comment
I’ll be brief.
I am struggling with my ‘job title’. I am concerned it could carry negative connotations and assumption.
What is your opinion? I am currently billed as ‘business development’ on LinkedIn etc… What is your immediate reaction? Positive, negative? Neither?
All comments greatly welcomed….I am open to new suggestions – an alternative or nothing?

Question for me is “business development” what? Can cover a multitude of different roles, expectations, outcomes.
Maybe better to focus on the outcome eg “Businesses Development searching out joint ventures, new business relationships, ideas for mutual growth”…bit long but at least it says what’s inside the tin. I once had the title Head of Talent Acquisition – aka Head of Recruitment. It was certainly a good conversation opener.
